I'm making a dessert today....
...and I have a couple of ideas...
...but I don't know what to pick...
...and for some reason I want funfetti cupcakes.
That is all.

What starts with 'b'?
I was tagged by Lora over at Take Me the Way I Am to do this so...here are ten things I love that start with the letter B!!
(this is just like Sesame Street!)
#1: Baking: I absolutely LOVE baking. I started with biscuits at the tender age of eight, and then moved onto cookies, then cakes, then pies. Mm, pies.
#2: Books: That was my first word. Not even kidding. I was sitting in my crib when my mom came in and I pointed to my bookshelf and said "books!". She handed me one, and then I said "thanks!". Polite and well-read at an early age. But seriously, love me some books. I currently have shelves that wrap around my room that are nearly full of books.
#3: Bridal...ness: I made up a word. I've had two years to revel in being a bride-to-be, and I've got one more to go. I really enjoy all the white, fluffy goodness.
#4: Bubble baths: Ooh, I got four b's out of that one! But yes, nothing is nicer than a bubble bath. :)
#5: Babies: Oh, how I love babies. P and I want five of them. :)
#6: Brown...as in Jason Robert: All right, so I cheated a little bit, but he is one of my all time favorite Broadway composers. He did Parade, Last Five Years, Songs for a New World...and he plays the piano.
#7: Braids: I love braiding my hair, even if it doesn't necessarily suit me. Actually, my hair's braided right now. And I am LOVING IT.
#8: Babbling: It's true. Whether I'm talking or writing, I love it when words are just comin' out. :)
#9: Bows: Not even kidding. I love bows. Any kind of frippery, actually.
(also, who else loves the word "frippery"?)
And finally:
#10: Blogging: What would I be like without a fun place to babble?
All right...if your name begins with C, K, A, or D, I wanna see you do this!! And your letter is...L!

Back from hiatus!
Whew! That was a much longer hiatus than I thought! I haven't even been doing all that much; it's just...well, life gets crazy, and my internet access at home is not very reliable. But I really feel bad about not roll-calling on SITS and getting back to all the wonderful people who commented. I feel like a mooch.
But in any case...what have I been up to?
-Christmas was lovely! I got the marvelous pink Schwinn I've been lusting after since August, plus a MASSIVE external hard drive and a nicer USB mic than the one I've been using.
-Lots of cooking. And when I say lots, I mean five or six batches of cookies, mini pumpkin cheesecakes, Christmas dinner, peppermint pie, and so many appetizers I can't count them. Anyone up for some delicious holiday recipes?
-Riding aforementioned bicycle. Now, the last time I rode a bike, I was eleven, and I flipped off and cracked my skull and swore I would never ride a bike again. Naturally, I have some reservations about riding again, but I've been doing it anyway. Besides, it's a great workout- that bike is so heavy that my legs can barely pedal it up!
-Scoping out apartments in Smyrna. P and I are looking for a place there, since it's halfway between his school and where I will most likely find work. He took me out on a date there. It was great. We were so honeymooney over each other it was ridiculous.
-Some sewing. Mostly just fun little things, but I hope to tackle my GINORMOUS pile o' projects soon.
-Lots of Sims 2 gaming. P gave me Bon Voyage for Christmas, and it's so addicting. I play it in waves. I've started a new challenge neighborhood. Ooh, fun!
-I started writing Beatrice and the Greenfinch Carnival, the sequel to my first book, Beatrice and the Cat. Hopefully I can tell you about some of that soon. ;)
So yeah. That's what I've been up to. Hopefully I'll get back in the swing of regular blogging soon. I miss it. :(

Thanksgiving...is already over.
Thanksgiving was fun. I went to P's house this year- last year he came with me to my grandparents' house, so I figured I should return the favor. I had a lot of fun...I was just so sleepy! But P and I won the game of hand and foot, so it was all good. ^_^ And I baked- spicy apple pie, pound cake, and pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Mm...
And then I got up at 7:30 this morning and went back to sewing.
I cut, sewed, and finished a dress in about 2 hours, which is nice, but the bodice for Ariel's blue dress is taking FOREVER. I expected that, especially since I'm being persnickety and understitching all of the seams, but still. Bored and frustrated. I'm probably going to move on to something more exciting in a moment. You can tell I'm bored, because I'm blogging instead of sewing. Still, though, I have a lot of work before I can take a long break and feel good about it. Oh, well.
I'm also trying to figure out how to use up my fabric scraps. I have a bin about 3' deep and 5' long that's FILLED with fabric scraps. I'm thinking about selling doll clothes online. But there's a lot of makers of American Girl doll clothes online. I think the trick is to specialize. Like Disney doll outfits, or storybook characters. Yeah. Maybe I'll try that.
I've also been revisiting my childhood today. I've watched Sleeping Beauty, the live-action Peter Pan, and Mary Poppins. Oh, good times.
